TSIAGBICATMWI Chapter 13
by VolareThe next morning, Xie YunChuan and Luo Shuyou woke up to find Lu Yunzhou gone.
Xie YunChuan, remembering their conversation from the night before, guessed that he had gone out on his own, so he didn’t pay much attention.
After eating something, he and Luo Shuyou packed up and set off.
Today, no one was carrying a backpack, and they weren’t in a hurry. Xie YunChuan led Luo Shuyou along at a leisurely pace, still going wherever Luo Shuyou pointed.
He had also asked Luo Shuyou why they couldn’t go to certain places, but Luo Shuyou couldn’t explain it. It was like a sixth sense, completely nonsensical, but he just felt that those places weren’t safe.
After a day, adding to yesterday, they had searched everywhere except for the places Luo Shuyou wouldn’t let them go.
Even though they were moving slowly, they had calculated the time well and made it home before dark.
Xie YunChuan pushed open the door, went inside, and put down his things. Lu Yunzhou still hadn’t returned. Could it be that he had left in a fit of anger?
Luo Shuyou looked at the empty room, then at the sky that had completely darkened. Something seemed to be stirring restlessly in the darkness.
He said with some worry, “ChuanChuan, should we go out and look for him?”
He could feel the agitation of those things.
“No need, he’s very capable. He probably left on his own. Don’t worry.”
Luo Shuyou was skeptical. From what he had seen of Lu Yunzhou these past few days, he hadn’t noticed anything particularly remarkable about him.
Just then, the door clicked open, and Lu Yunzhou dragged his weary body back, just in time to hear Xie YunChuan’s “no need.”
“Xie YunChuan, you son of a bitch, do you have any conscience? At least we’re comrades who’ve been through life and death together many times! I almost died out there!”
Xie YunChuan saw that his clothes were disheveled, his hands were empty, and his bag was gone, but there were no obvious injuries on his body. He was relieved. “Did you fall into someone’s sewer?”
Lu Yunzhou sat down, panting, and took a big gulp of water before saying, “Don’t even mention it. Damn it, I broke into a demon’s den.”
Luo Shuyou asked curiously, “What do you mean?”
Lu Yunzhou took a breath and continued, “Do you know why we didn’t encounter any of those things yesterday? Damn, they’re all piled up in the underground parking garage.”
Xie YunChuan: “The underground parking garage that we didn’t go to yesterday?”
“That’s right.”
Luo Shuyou: “You went there?”
Lu Yunzhou rolled his eyes. “Duh.”
Xie YunChuan: “Then how come you didn’t die in there? Why did you go when I told you not to?”
Lu Yunzhou looked at Luo Shuyou. “How was I supposed to know why he wouldn’t let us go there yesterday? I asked him for a reason, but he wouldn’t say. I thought he was just scared himself and wanted to take a brighter path.”
“If I had known there were all those things inside, I wouldn’t have gone in even if you beat me to death.”
“But now that I think about it, Shuyou, how did you know it was dangerous over there?” As he spoke, he moved closer to Luo Shuyou, examining him curiously.
Xie YunChuan pushed him away. “Get out of here. Are you even allowed to call him Shuyou!”
Even though Lu Yunzhou was far away, his eyes were still glued to Luo Shuyou, determined to figure out the reason.
“How would I know if it’s dangerous or not? It’s all a feeling. You know, sixth sense? When choosing answers, trust your sixth sense.”
Luo Shuyou thought bitterly, what could he say? He couldn’t tell Lu Yunzhou that he had a telepathic connection with that thing, could he? He didn’t want to, okay?
Lu Yunzhou: “True, go with your gut feeling. Your feeling is really accurate, huh?”
Xie YunChuan: “Stop being so talkative. Tell us exactly what happened.”
“Didn’t I argue with you yesterday? Then when I walked over there today, I had a rebellious thought. I thought, ‘He won’t let me go, but I insist on going. I want to see what’s in there.’ So I went in.”
Lu Yunzhou was a little embarrassed at this point. Yeah, he was such an adult and still so childish, he really should feel ashamed.
Luo Shuyou: “And then?”
“Then, at first, it was normal. I saw those parked cars and pried open a few of them and took some things. As I walked inside, I swept the flashlight around and caught sight of many figures in a flash.
Man, it scared me so much that I dropped the flashlight on the ground. I thought, ‘With such a big noise, I’m done for.’
Hey! Guess what? When I tremblingly picked up the flashlight and looked, those things were still standing there without moving.
I mustered my courage and walked closer to take a look. Man, the whole garage, there were nests and clusters of monsters everywhere. They seemed to have entered some kind of dormant state, just standing there without moving.”
Xie YunChuan: “Then how did you get so disheveled?”
“I was thinking, ‘The bold die of fullness, the timid die of hunger, wealth is found in danger. It’s been so long, and they’re not moving anyway,’ so I continued to pry open car doors.”
“Tsk tsk, you’re really skilled and brave,” Luo Shuyou gave him a thumbs up.
Lu Yunzhou was somewhat ashamed and indignant. “Don’t interrupt!”
“Everything was going smoothly at first. But when I searched to the innermost part, those shadows suddenly moved. Under the dim light, their red eyes drifted like vengeful ghosts. It was like luring a dog in to kill it.”
“They had the numbers and the momentum, so I didn’t dare to move immediately. Then I hid inside, dodging and running around like a rat crossing the street. Fortunately, there were many cars inside, so there were many places to hide. I hid until nightfall, and when I saw that they seemed to be dormant again, I sneaked back out.”
Luo Shuyou asked sincerely, “Since you could run around inside, why didn’t you run out?”
Lu Yunzhou: “Good question. Do you think I didn’t want to? Am I stupid?”
Luo Shuyou nodded knowingly. “I’m glad you realize that, father is very pleased.”
Lu Yunzhou pointed at Luo Shuyou, so angry that he wanted to punch him a couple of times. “You…!”
Xie YunChuan quickly pulled Luo Shuyou over and protected him in his arms, saying nonchalantly, “We’re talking business here, don’t be naughty.”
Lu Yunzhou looked at Xie YunChuan’s sturdy physique, his height that was even taller than his own, and then looked at Luo Shuyou, who was lying in his arms, sticking out his tongue at him in a cheap way. Forget it, he couldn’t win. He was used to being a dog everywhere, so he would just endure it.
Xie YunChuan knew Luo Shuyou’s little actions as if he had eyes on his chest. Without even looking down, he naturally reached out and covered his mouth. “Don’t be mischievous.”
He looked at Lu Yunzhou and said, “Continue.”
“I wanted to go out too, but some of them were gathered at the exit, as if they were attracted by something. There were so many of them that I couldn’t get out without disturbing them, so I had to lie low and wait for an opportunity.”
Luo Shuyou: “Hibernate, you’re pretty good at enduring, huh?”
Lu Yunzhou said unhappily, “Damn, it’s a matter of life and death. If it were you, you’d be even better at enduring than me.”
Luo Shuyou: “Then aren’t you afraid that they’ll just stay like that forever?”
Lu Yunzhou said bitterly, “I’m scared. I was waiting with a disheartened heart, still hoping that you guys would come to save me. And then I came back and heard those inhumane words from Xie YunChuan.”
As he spoke, he glared fiercely at Xie YunChuan.
Xie YunChuan ignored him.
