One day after class, as Chi Nan was walking back to his dormitory from the teaching building, a group of people suddenly appeared and blocked his way. Chi Nan walked to the left, they blocked him. Chi Nan walked to the right, they still blocked him.

“What do you want?”

Chi Nan asked. From the beginning, these people hadn’t shown any hostility towards him. They seemed intent on blocking him rather than resorting to violence. As for their identity, Chi Nan immediately thought of that old geezer Yu Jianguo. Only Yu Jianguo would be unscrupulous enough to block his path in broad daylight. Besides, he had no grudges with anyone else.

“Our master requests your presence.”

The bodyguard said sternly.

“I don’t know your master, nor do I want to go. If you continue like this, I’ll call the police.”

Since it wasn’t too late, and the people blocking the way were dressed relatively normally, the passing students wouldn’t suspect a robbery. Moreover, it was unlikely to happen on campus. Seeing their indifference, Chi Nan pretended to take out his phone to call the police. As he dialed, the bodyguards exchanged glances, then swiftly moved to restrain him, seizing his phone in the process.

“What you’re doing is illegal.”

Chi Nan tried to speak, but after uttering a few words, someone covered his mouth and nose, dragging him into a corner. Because Chi Nan was uncooperative, they had to reluctantly call Yu Jianguo and let them speak.

“Our master wants to talk to you.”

The bodyguard held the phone to Chi Nan’s ear. Chi Nan heard a voice from the other end.

“Nan Nan, were you hurt when the bodyguards took action?”

Yu Jianguo’s tone was full of guilt, even worried that the bodyguards’ roughness might have harmed Chi Nan. But didn’t Yu Jianguo find it ridiculous?

“Ugh, I advise you to release me, Yu Jianguo. I don’t want to hear anything about your affairs with the Shen family, and I have nothing to do with you.”

On the contrary, Chi Nan’s words sounded different to Yu Jianguo.

“Nan Nan, your classmates seem to come from good families and treat you well, don’t they?”

Chi Nan narrowed his eyes at Yu Jianguo’s words.

“It’s nothing, Dad just wants you to attend a party.”

Chi Nan took a deep breath.

“I’ll go. Don’t touch my friends.”

Chi Nan cursed Yu Jianguo a hundred and eighty times in his heart. This disgusting man was threatening him with his friends. He was disgusting like this a few years ago, and he’s still disgusting now.

“Okay, Dad will listen to Nan Nan.”

Hearing Yu Jianguo call himself Dad, Chi Nan felt disgusted and wanted to throw up. Yu Jianguo’s words were comparable to a laxative, infinitely powerful.

Fu Chaoyun came out of the VIP channel in the evening and received a call from his sister, Fu Shi, as soon as he got off the plane.

“The Shen family’s old man’s birthday banquet. Come over later.”

“I’m not going. I’m exhausted after just getting off the plane, and I can’t even contact Chi Nan. I don’t have time to attend someone else’s birthday banquet.”

Fu Chaoyun rubbed his forehead as he spoke. He hadn’t been sleeping well lately, and the symptoms that had improved were now worsening.

“Your little friend is there too.”

Yu Jianguo’s current wife, Shen Chu, had a daughter but couldn’t have any more children. After Chi Nan got out of the bodyguard’s car, he was led into the house through a side entrance. As he was led in, Chi Nan snorted. Yu Jianguo wanted the Shen family’s money, but the Shen family’s head didn’t think much of Yu Jianguo. Even letting Chi Nan attend the banquet meant he had to use a side entrance. It seemed Yu Jianguo’s life in the Shen family wasn’t so great after all.

“Please wait a moment. The master will be here soon.”

The bodyguard led Chi Nan to a room, told him to wait inside, and then went outside to wait. Chi Nan looked around. There were some fruits and a few suits in the room.

“Is Yu Jianguo planning to sell his son for glory?”

Seeing the situation, Chi Nan felt that Yu Jianguo wouldn’t be so kind-hearted. Something big must be waiting for him.

After ten minutes, Yu Jianguo opened the door and smiled when he saw Chi Nan inside.

“Nan Nan, were you tired coming all this way?”

“I wasn’t tired at first, but seeing you makes me tired.”

Chi Nan didn’t even look up as he mocked Yu Jianguo. Actually, Chi Nan had a pretty good temper and rarely argued with others. Only Yu Jianguo could make him feel so disgusted every time.
