HUFT Chapter 19
by VolareChi Nan looked at Fu Chaoyun opening his mouth, yet felt like he hadn’t said anything at all. The words “I am Uncle Fu” seemed to come from outer space, and Chi Nan was rooted to the spot by the sound.
Chi Nan raised his head to look at Fu Chaoyun. Fu… Uncle Fu. These words instantly connected in Chi Nan’s mind. The Uncle Fu he had imagined shattered like a bubble, eventually morphing into the image of Fu Chaoyun.
Chi Nan was so frightened by this realization that he took two steps back, his phone almost slipping from his grasp. His legs seemed to tangle as he retreated, and he nearly fell.
“Careful.”
Fu Chaoyun grabbed Chi Nan’s arm and pulled him into his embrace. Chi Nan fell completely into Fu Chaoyun’s arms, catching a faint scent of cologne.
“Uncle Fu.”
Chi Nan called out cautiously, and Fu Chaoyun responded.
“How can you be Uncle Fu? Why is it you?”
Chi Nan felt like crying. He had imagined countless times what kind of person Uncle Fu would be, but he had never imagined it would be the famous Fu Chaoyun. How could it be Fu Chaoyun?
“Why can’t it be me, hmm?”
Chi Nan quickly backed away from Fu Chaoyun’s embrace. He had been panicked and disoriented just now, stumbling into Fu Chaoyun’s arms. Now that he had calmed down, there was no reason to stay in his embrace any longer.
“Let’s find a place to talk.”
Fu Chaoyun and Chi Nan stood awkwardly in the corner. Although it was relatively secluded, many people still passed by, and they might notice Chi Nan, causing trouble.
“Okay.”
Chi Nan had also calmed down now, no longer as flustered as before. They left the school gate and went to Fu Chaoyun’s car. Chi Nan didn’t relax until he was sitting in the passenger seat.
The cool air was very pleasant, which helped ease his anxious mood.
“Why can’t I be Fu Chaoyun? What did you imagine Uncle Fu to be like?”
“I don’t know.”
Chi Nan shook his head and then said,
“But I know that Uncle Fu wouldn’t lie to me. He would fulfill the promises he made to me. But you are Fu Chaoyun. You lied to me. How are you going to fulfill the promises you made?”
Chi Nan started to cry as he spoke.
The person who comforted him in the dead of night was Uncle Fu, not Fu Chaoyun. The person who said he would stay with him and not let him be alone was Uncle Fu, not Fu Chaoyun. The person who promised him so much was Uncle Fu, not Fu Chaoyun. How would Fu Chaoyun compensate him?
“Chi Nan, I will fulfill everything I promised. As for me being Fu Chaoyun, it’s the same as me being Uncle Fu.”
“It’s not the same.”
“Fu Chaoyun, how are you going to give me back Uncle Fu?”
Fu Chaoyun looked at the young man’s red eyes, especially the tears welling up. He thought the young man was very strong, but he didn’t expect him to be so fragile.
“Chi Nan, I’ll give myself to you as compensation. I’ll give you my whole life. From now on, I’ll be your Uncle Fu and only be your Uncle Fu.”
“You’re lying.”
Chi Nan looked at Fu Chaoyun with red eyes. How could Fu Chaoyun be Uncle Fu? Why did Fu Chaoyun have to be Uncle Fu? Fu Chaoyun was a celebrity, a household name, destined to stand before the public. But his Uncle Fu didn’t need to be. He was his alone, and he would reply to him no matter what.
“Chi Nan.”
Fu Chaoyun repeated the name in his heart. Finally, he pulled the young man’s neck and kissed him. He couldn’t control himself, especially seeing Chi Nan looking at him with red eyes. When Chi Nan called his name, Fu Chaoyun, over and over again, his heart was breaking. His young man was so fragile, so fragile that he wanted to cherish him. His young man was so strong, but this time he broke down because of him. He really regretted it. He should have told him directly. Would that have spared him so much heartache?
Fu Chaoyun kissed the young man’s lips, which had a faint mint fragrance. Fu Chaoyun pried open Chi Nan’s teeth, conquering and claiming territory, letting the young man feel his presence.
Chi Nan was stunned by the sudden kiss. For some reason, Chi Nan’s hands wanted to push Fu Chaoyun away, but when he raised them, he did nothing, just like the last time he was embraced. He had a reason to refuse, but he didn’t push him away, waiting until Fu Chaoyun saw that Chi Nan was about to run out of breath before letting him go.
“I… I have something to do. I’ll go first.”
Chi Nan stammered, then opened the car door and ran away. Fu Chaoyun wanted to call Chi Nan back to give him the Children’s Day gift, but now he had run away. Moreover, it seemed he had made things worse.
When Chi Nan got out of Fu Chaoyun’s car, he ran all the way back to the dormitory. He might have bumped into people along the way, but Chi Nan didn’t have time to care. Why had things turned out this way? He remembered he came to tell Fu Chaoyun that he was very angry, that he had been deceived. How had it turned into… turned into them kissing?
Chi Nan touched the corner of his mouth, which felt a little hot, but there was no temperature at all. He even felt he should have pushed Fu Chaoyun away. But Chi Nan was recalling the kiss, and a voice in his heart quietly asked him: Did he hate Fu Chaoyun?
Chi Nan’s mind was in a mess. He needed to sort things out. Why was Fu Chaoyun so cold at first when they met, then became a little more enthusiastic later? Was it because he recognized him as Nan Chi Ru Jiang? And the hot search incident, why was he complaining to Uncle Fu about being scolded one minute, and then a few minutes later, many people were apologizing to him?
Uncle Fu also told him that he was currently unemployed at home, meaning he had no filming projects. So many little details he hadn’t noticed. Was he an idiot?
“Oh no, I even scolded Fu Chaoyun.”
Chi Nan slapped his head. Strangely, Chi Nan felt deceived and very angry, but when he saw Uncle Fu, he also felt a little excited. He didn’t hate Fu Chaoyun kissing him. He even felt a little flutter in his heart. But even if he was happy in his heart, he couldn’t reconcile with Fu Chaoyun for deceiving him. And kissing him without permission was also too much.
Chi Nan’s heart no longer resented Fu Chaoyun. He just wanted to save a little face for himself.
On the other side, Fu Chaoyun still felt he had messed things up. He thought Chi Nan looked very angry just now. Fu Chaoyun called Lu Cheng.
“Shouldn’t you be having a sweet time with your young man? How can you have time to call me?”
Lu Cheng teased him directly on the phone. Then, Fu Chaoyun told Lu Cheng the whole story, skipping the part about the forced kiss.
“In that case, you should first finish what you promised him and see if he forgives you.”
After Fu Chaoyun hung up the phone, he felt Lu Cheng was right. He was the one who deceived Chi Nan first. Even if Chi Nan was going to forgive him, he had to wait until he had finished what he had promised Chi Nan. Besides, with the young man’s personality, he might cry in the dormitory for a long time. He didn’t want the young man to cry. Moreover, he had promised Chi Nan to give him back Uncle Fu.
